Orange fragrance oil commonly known for its aromatic properties as it is used in aromatherapy. It is also used for curing many conditions like cold and flu. This is helpful to add flavour to the candies, deodorant and it is very fragrance oil ingredient in cosmetic industry also. Orange oil can be used as an insecticide and parasite.
The native place of orange plant is China. In China it has been used for centuries for its medicinal properties. This plant is also produced by Europe and Portugal in 15th century and after that Columbus has introduce this orange fruit to America from where it was spread to the whole world by the 18th century. Nowadays Mexico has the largest production of this fruit.
However, orange plant was originated by china but now it is also produced by America and India. Some of the African countries also started to produce orange fruit. America is highest producer of orange oil, though orange is mostly cultivated in Brazil.
Orange oil is extracted from the orange plant when the fruit is mature, which takes three to four years after plantation. It needs a lot of water and sunlight for the growth. Orange plant needs 16 -30 degree temperatures at least for its growth. Fruits of orange plant can be harvested 3-4 times in a year, depending up on the climatic conditions and the variety of plant.
